October – June
Lemon, the most acidic of citrus fruits, is a treasure for the kitchen and for our health, giving us multiple vitamins and minerals. Lemons stimulate the liver to help to eliminate toxins, in addition to increasing intestinal peristaltic movements and promoting digestion. They also help to prevent and dissolve stones in the gallbladder and kidney and are powerful bactericides.
Their high content in vitamin C and flavonoids helps to strengthen the immune system and prevent respiratory diseases.
In addition, they have aesthetic properties: they are used to whiten the hands, deodorize the armpits, give shine and softness to the hair, in face masks or as an essential oil in perfumery.
Lemons are used in many dishes, as their juice prevents fresh fruits and vegetables from oxidizing.
